Affiliate Disclosure
The Cash Trail is all about making a little extra cash over and above any other income you might have.
This inevitably means there are going to be products or services that make this a whole lot easier than trying to figure it all out for yourself and naturally, if I come across any that I think are any good, I’m obviously going to recommend them.
But here’s the thing…
In some cases, when I promote other stuff and you end up buying it, the vendors MAY send me a little commission for doing so.
It’s a bit like a ‘you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’ sort of thing!
Here’s how it works.
If I recommend products or services that I think you may benefit from and I send you to have a look via a link to the vendor’s website (using what’s known as an affiliate or referral link), if you go ahead and pay for said product or service (that you found via my links), I might get a little ‘thank you’ payment!
However, there are two really important points to think about…
The first is, if you buy from these links, it doesn’t cost you a single penny extra!
The entire commission purely comes out of the vendor’s pocket not yours.
The second REALLY important point is (in fact I think this is probably THE most important)…
So many affiliate marketers (especially newbies), go hell for leather in promoting products purely to make money without offering proper value to their readers. In my view this is absolute rubbish!
To promote affiliate products successfully it’s all about enhancing people’s experiences and giving them real added value so I can assure you, here at The Cash Trail, I’ll never recommend a product simply because it pays a commission without knowing whether it’ll provide any proper benefit or not!
In other words, I’ll only recommend products that I’ve either personally used myself, I’ve researched properly or that have been highly recommended by other people I trust!
Now sometimes the commission I receive might just be a one-time payment, maybe a few quid (a few dollars for our American friends) and sometimes it can be quite a bit more.
Other times there may be an ongoing commission… for example if you sign up for a service with a recurring monthly fee, then I may well get a small slice of your monthly subscription.
Bottom line, as someone hopefully helping you to find cheeky ways of making a little extra income, then it’d only be right that I’m doing the same.
Fair enough?
Oh and one final point.
It’s not always practical to differentiate whether a link is an affiliate link to another paid product or service, or simply a non-paying link to another website that’s relevant for the subject. So by all means feel free to assume that any time I link to a third-party product, there’s a possibility I might get a small commission.
